Etienne Kompis is a sound designer, dialogue editor, and re-recording mixer based in London. He works from his own small, surround-capable studio located in London Fields. He holds a Master’s degree in Sound Design from the National Film and Television School in London and a Bachelor’s Degree in Animation 2D from The University of Applied Arts and Sciences in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Since 2017, he has been working as a freelance sound designer and a few years later he co-founded the Noisy Neighbours Sound Design Collective. In the early years Etienne was mostly focusing on sound design for animated short films and advertisements, he has since expanded his portfolio to include fiction shorts, documentaries, and more recently, feature films and serial content.
The projects he contributed to screened at film festivals around the world, had theatrical releases, and aired on television. In 2024 he was nominated for the 71st Golden Reel Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing in the Student Film category.
